Musings From A Musical Mind

Long Beach

There is a place where sky meets sea

Miles and miles of open shore

Hundreds of sea gulls linger

And “normal” city noises are no more

It is a quiet serenity –

I pause to contemplate

How life gets so complicated

Stresses “my world” can sometimes create

I long to stop and ponder

Say goodbye to grief

Like a child who breathes in his mother

And finds comfort in the relief

As I stood and watched the sun set

In all it’s beauty and thunder

An ever changing skyline

An unapologetic wonder

I realized that I too have a “rhythm”

A coming up and going out

An opportunity each morning

To be free from guilt, remorse and doubt

In this place of solitude

I can almost believe

That anything is possible

What was lost can easily be retrieved

And so I blow a kiss to the sunset

Sad to see it go

But hopeful for tomorrow

Where prayers and wishes go

Thanks Cindy for the lovely words.♥
I too feel that the “Place where sky meets the sea” is beckoning me. Time to get in tune with God and myself again so to speak.:)

  2. This is really great! I love the expressions in it and the conclusion you bring us to at the end. Wonderful! Self-reflective and hopeful…beautiful poetry. Thanks, Cindy!

  3. Cindy, this is beautiful!
