Musings From A Musical Mind

I Wish…

I wish…things were different

I wish…my friend didn’t have to deal with cancer AGAIN.

I wish…that a simple “I’m sorry” took care of everything

I wish…people would quit being so stubborn

I wish…there was no “victim mentality”

I wish…everyone would forgive

I wish…I could go back in time with what I know now and fix something

I wish I had my friend back

I wish everyone could get it

I wish everyone was as happy as I am

I wish

I wish

I wish

I would say these lyrics by Cindy Morgan sum up EVERYTHING I’ve been feeling.  This artist GETS IT.  I couldn’t have said it better myself.  Thanks, Cindy.

Take a listen – God Bless.

Wish I didn’t feel so helpless

Wish I didn’t act so selfish

Wish I didn’t wring my hands night and day

My hair was a little bit smoother

My jeans fit a little bit looser

And I always knew the right things to say

I wish I wouldn’t hide what’s been going on inside

And I wish you wouldn’t get scared and run away

Wish I was doin’ better with all the things that matter

I guess I got some learnin’ to do

Wish everyone had someone to  hold them and to love them

The way I’m always gonna love you

I wish wishes came true

I wish there was a cure for cancer

Wish somebody had an answer

And all God’s children never got hurt

I wish Eve never bit that apple

Young men never went to battle

And I didn’t get so mad at the world

I wish I was more like Jesus and could pickup all the pieces

And make a better life for my baby girls

Wish I was doin’ better with all the things that matter

I guess I got some learnin’ to do

Wish everyone had someone to  hold them and to love them

The way I’m always gonna love you

I wish wishes came true

And for everything I’m wishin’ I know someone’s up there listenin’

So I’ll say my prayers when I go to bed

Wish I was doin’ better with all the things that matter

I guess I got some learnin’ to do

Oh I wish everyone had someone to hold them and to  love them

The way I’m always gonna love you

I wish wishes came true

Sometimes wishes come true

I wish, I wish

  1. Beautiful song!

  2. What she said. . . LOL Great song!

  3. So glad to have found your blog. I love this post, love the song, and especially love your personal wish list. I once read that every wish needs to become a prayer. I’ll be praying. Blessings to you!

  4. Hi Cindy! I found you through Karen Daly Cook’s blog. I really love your blog! It’s so open and vulnerable. I love to read about the lives and struggles of fellow believers. It’s through these struggles that God transforms us. Keep blogging and singing! Looking forward to more posts! 🙂

    • Thanks so much for finding me Heather! I feel blessed 🙂 I am looking at your blog right now too and will add you to my blog feed so I can see all your new articles too. I love it when we find people who understand our struggles and can relate, don’t you?

  5. I know the feeling, but amazingly God calls us and even enables us to bring heaven into the earth. That’s incredible! In our prayers, giving, growing, changing, going, working, and everything else–there is the opportunity to bring out His life and change the world. That’s the hope I cling to. Great post, Cindy! Thanks.

    • I’m so glad for this Jason – things do change with our prayers – they change our heart and our mindset and allow us to “hope” and “dream” – I love that about God 🙂

  6. So many things I wish for too – some little, some big.

  7. Cindy – we really are simpatico these days! I used to be afraid of hope because of the fear of disappointment…but I know that the Love of God the Father is deep enough to cover both. I am learning day by day to trust & hope for things that bring me closer to Jesus and those around me. Life is hard and at times knocks us around. thanks for this today – wishes are good, it’s what we do with our hearts when they don’t always come true.

    • Totally! I’m loving that we are in sync with things lately – SO COOL!! Life can be hard and I’m thankful for friends who understand and have gone through similar things and can share perspective and encouragement to me – thanks Karen 🙂

  8. Tall order! ;D

  9. Thank you, Cindy. {(sniff})
