Musings From A Musical Mind

His Rain

Rain, Rainy weather

Image via Wikipedia

Drops of rain

endless rain

pouring down

soaking everything

completely filling

every crack and crevice

plant and flower

with life-giving moisture

I watch as they drink it in

And I think about

the Father’s love

and grace

that is relentless

and continuing

reminding me

that He is with me

surrounding me

with His unyielding motion

in my direction

reflecting His promise

of devotion

and stubborn love

Like the relentless

and like a thirsty flower

I drink it in

I pause and reflect

I allow it to fill me up

saturate and penetrate

the dry areas

and am grateful

for His rain

  1. That’s nice, Cindy. We’ve had way too much rain here, though, this summer. The ground is still soft and rather non-supportive. I guess there’s never too much of God’s rain, though.

  2. This is so beautiful. I am also thankful for his rain.

  3. This is really beautiful! Exactly what I needed to be reminded of tonight.

  4. Good stuff, Cindy! Peaceful and driving at the same time. Thanks.

  5. Loved this, Cindy.

  6. Your blog doesn’t like me today. I posted this more lengthy comment and it disappeared when it asked me who I was. It usually remembers me, but not today. Today I’m a stranger. lol Very nice poem, Cindy. I can’t remember what else I said so that’ll have to do. Waaaaay too much going on here today.

  7. Hard to relate much to rain here in the desert of ARIDzona. Nothing much ever gets soaked. But we do see, on occasion, the much needed water of life in the desert. Wonderful poem!

    • Thanks JoJo – it’s hard to imagine when you don’t have much rain – but I have lived in places like Arizona so I know what it’s like to NOT have rain – I like rain πŸ™‚

  8. What wonderful imagery and how poetically stated. I love the rain and it’s cleansing of the air. The afterward of rain is such a fragrant delight. May God’s rain fall through me and fill me and bring out of me the fragrance and the fruit of Christ.
