Musings From A Musical Mind

The Little Things

I love going to get pedicures.  Who doesn’t?  It’s a wonderful little treat for my feet and when done right it is also very relaxing!  But my feet are REALLY SENSITIVE and TICKLISH!!  So when they scrub, scrub, scrub – I giggle, giggle, GIGGLE!!

The result is ALWAYS worth the pain and tickles though 🙂  I would never be without regular pedicures again.  So great for overall foot health!

But for years – they have been asking me – “are you getting a manicure too”?  And I ALWAYS said “no thank you”.  I play piano – have to keep my nails short so they don’t click on the keys – wash my hands a lot and basically am really hard on my hands.   Bad ripped and torn cuticles – jagged nails – the works.  I always thought, “at least I can have pretty toes :)”  And it never bothered me.

Oh I’ve had the occasional manicure – I even had acrylic nails one time – and I HATED THEM!  But without them my nail polish never stayed around for more than a couple of days – lots of nicks – it never seemed worth it.

I learned about gel nails.  This polish is heavy duty and even lasts a long time for tough customers like me!!  I was skeptical to try them – but they insisted that they would last me several weeks.  Here are my french gel nails after three weeks:

photo1 photoI must admit – I’m AMAZED they lasted more than ONE WEEK!!  I was instructed to always put nail oil on my cuticles and that has really helped.  I keep a bottle of it on my desk and every time I go to my desk, one of the first things I do is put oil on each nail cuticle.  These pictures are untouched with no oil on and to me they look so much better than they ever have.  A professional manicure is worth it.  I highly recommend the gel polish.  Not a chip on them!  In three weeks!

It’s such a little thing.  But this little thing brings a lot of happiness.  Little things are important too!  What is your little thing?

God Bless

I am an old guy with bad feet. I got pedicures for quite awhile and then my primary phyician referred me to a podiatrist. I now see him every 61 days. However, I liked the pedicure better. She made my feet feel so much better and kept the toenails trimmed and fined down. She was always after me to get a manicure, but I though that was for men in San Francisco. She and my wife insisted that men get them and their nails look good. I could not bring myself to it would be like losing my masculinity.

My wife gets a pedicure and manicure at least monthy.. I also wash the dishes every day to protect her hands. Her feet and hands always look nice. Now I notice the feet of women and can tell some gals spend lots of money on them with peicures, toe rings, anklets and fancy sandals.

Hope your day is going well.

    • Thanks so much! What a nice husband you are! My husband also does dishes for me – such a nice guy! Yes even men get these things done! Pedicures are very good for foot health and more and more people are realizing that!
