Yesterday and today I have had some fun setting up some widgets for my blog site. It’s been frustrating, but also really fun. Frustrating in that – I was not able to get everyone on “Blogs I follow” because it seems not everyone is compatible with this widget – or does not have a gravatar picture, or both – and FUN because now that I am done I can see everyone’s SMILING face looking at me. All the people who have encouraged and contributed to my writing and being. Their fresh faces gazing approvingly on my site – and I am satisfied.
No one is an island, not even those of us writers who prefer to live somewhat secluded and just – write. Or in my case – express. Either way it is not necessary to get a pat on the back or a smile of encouragement from others, but it is still appreciated. And I try to make a conscious effort to do the same to all of you. I sometimes forget what that comments of love mean to me. It is a wonderful thing to connect with others who feel the same and need someone else to say something they have been thinking and never written down. This has happened to me as I’ve read all your blog articles out there. Sometimes it’s like, “Wow – I can’t believe they said that!” And I find myself nodding and smiling.
Please don’t feel left out – if you are a reader and contributor and do not see your smiling picture on the right side of this page – please make me aware of it – it is not in the slightest bit intentional! I want to connect you with my readers and have others gain encouragement from the very thing you are writing about. You just never know who you are going to meet and come across because of this unique blogging community.
And if you see yourself there – just know this: we may not talk every day, or leave comments all the time, but you have been a part of my journey the last 4 plus years and I appreciate you!
Let’s encourage one another!

Cover of A Season of Love (Picture Psalms)
God created love. Love is a divine attribute, or characteristic, of God. The essence of God’s nature, and of a godly nature, is love. Love is more than a feeling. The love of God is a way of being. 1 John 4:7
I’m loving this season that I am in.
Greg and I are building relationships with people in our small church and our small group in particular. How wonderful it is to discover what happens when people find themselves colliding on a journey – and you link arms and say, “Let’s do life together” It is what the church is all about. People. Relationships. Love. And so we have in fact ‘linked arms’ and meet together to discuss our pastor’s messages from the Sunday morning before. It is a refreshing and sweet time. A season of love.
I am also discovering new blogging buddies and finding words of encouragement and camaraderie from people who have been through similar situations along this journey that I am on – and it’s a wonderful ‘God thing’ that they have been placed in my path. Their transparency and honest approach to past failure and situations in the church – puts me to shame – as I feel I have had to be careful what I say and what I reveal, even though I too have tried to express my heart clearly and without apology. These individuals have been a daily encouragement to me and through this wonderful gift of writing – we are discovering that we are not alone – and that God has wonderfully brought us together to share, relate and validate. It is a season of love.
And then there are the things that are not so well – a family situation that can have no happy ending. But again – it is an opportunity to see just how God is going to work on our behalf – working behind the scenes to bring about restoration, reconciliation and forgiveness. He is big on all three of these – and it is exciting to know that He will always be a God that draws us to His very heart – a heart of grace and mercy. He is always interested in our heart when we deal with difficult situations – and so even in difficult situations – we attempt to keep things right in our own hearts – and not allow bitterness or pride to hinder us from seeing the truth – and we pray that for others as well. It is an opportunity for God to truly speak and an opportunity to build character and integrity. It is a remarkable season of love.
I am praying for each one of my readers today – that you will allow whatever situation you find yourself in right now – to be an opportunity for that ‘season of love’ in your own life. May the love of Jesus be your focal point as you look out on the things that are happening all around you. And as you focus on that love – I pray something will happen in your own heart and life – a change from within. May it give you clear perspective as you love others in your world that desperately need it today.
Below is the song from the musical “Rent” – great song about love. This link will take you to another screen. Click on ‘view on youtube’ to see and hear the song. It’s a great one!
Enjoy and God Bless

Two years ago this month was my first blog article – and the beginning of a wonderful relationship and growing passion for writing.
In that amount of time I have come to appreciate those that have been in this crazy little corner of the world with me – our blog sites – and have made many new friends. It’s sobering to note that had I not ventured out – taken a risk to open up and be truly authentic (at least as authentic as I feel appropriate) – I would not have met and developed those relationships – found a mutual love with these people, help and encouragement through the good, the bad – and the ugly. Most of these people whom I speak of can be found on my blogroll down below. Some I knew before – most I did not – and some I reconnected with because of blogging.
Those of you that are daily in my daily blogging life – contributing to a laugh, or a sigh – bringing clarity and humor to this crazy world – thank you. Let’s never be too busy to write a word of encouragement to each other – the writer knows how important that is – like no other.
I’ve learned a great many things over the last two years – have been daily inspired and encouraged by things I’ve read by all of you – and have found many topics to reflect on and write about myself. Life is full of opportunities – if we just open up our eyes! I look forward to many more anniversaries – writing and reflecting about my journey!
Thank you – to all of my readers! ♥ And if you’re a daily reader but never leave a comment – I want to encourage you – let me know that you’re reading and leave me a comment. Your word may be just what I need to hear – or what someone else needs to hear – on that very day. Our words are powerful – don’t hold them back.
I just wanted to take a moment and feature a couple of my friends blogs to you – and hope you will click on their names and head over to their blog sites! These three are my dear friends and AWESOME people who will want to know!!
The first is my dear friend Deanna Morauski. She and her husband John – own and run a cute little Bed and Breakfast in North Bend, Washington called, “The Old Hen B&B”. Deanna is a gifted speaker, writer and gourmet cook. She has a couple of blog sites – but this one is special because it features her yummy recipes complete with pictures – take a look!
The second is my ‘cyber space’ friend, JoJo Tabares. JoJo is a gifted writer and communicator – has several articles and books published – is a wealth of information in the home school and communication market – and has had a radio show – where Greg and I had the privilege of being guests last year. You will love her information and humor – she is a good friend who is an example to me of how you can have a million things to be busy with – and still be a consistent presence to others – and a source of great encouragement to me as well – no matter what is going on in her life.
The third friend I am going to feature today is my friend, Carla Ives. Carla is charming and full of fun! She is JoJo’s editor and a wealth of information on just about anything! Click over there to find info on the “Work at home Mom” – tips on great computer sites to save you time and money – humor and MORE! I learn something new everyday from her – she really knows her stuff!!
I have many more friends with interesting blogs and I will be letting you know about them in days to come as well. Everyone of my friends on my blogroll have interesting and informative articles that will keep you laughing and learning!
Have a great day! God Bless!
I have been following a blog site for a few days – and have had the opportunity to participate in a ‘sharing’ of articles on her site. She calls it, “The Saturday Evening Blog Post” – where others just like you and I share our favorite blog article from the last month. It is a worth it to check her out and participate – great way to read what other ‘bloggers’ are doing and to get more publicity for your own site. Click here: Elizabeth Esther to post an article on her website.
I chose the article I wrote the other day on “What Scares You” a look into what things hold us back from being everything we need to be. I hope you will take the time to go to the website above and read some of Elizabeth’s great articles and other ‘fellow bloggers’ out there as well!
I hope you will also take the time to read some of the great articles that I read – included on my blogroll on the right side of this page – and further down you will see the ‘live feed’ from the ‘fellow bloggers’ that I read most often. They are extremely talented friends and colleagues and I hope you will take a minute and look them up – you won’t be disappointed!
