One of my very favorite songs EVER! I first heard this song played on the sitcom, “Growing Pains” in the early 90’s. I fell in love with it then and have since found the song and have it on several CDs in my car (my own music mixes). It is one of the most romantic love songs I’ve ever heard.
Swept Away – By Christopher Cross
I never had anything happen so fast
I took one look and I shattered like glass
I guess I let it show ’cause your smile told me you knew
That you’re everything I ever wanted at once
There’s no holding this heart when it knows what it wants
And I never wanted anything more than to know you
I was swept away
No one in the world but you and I
Gotta find a way to make you feel the way that I do
I was swept away
Without a warning
Like night when the morning begins the day
I was swept away
And so it begins
This journey of love
The summer wind carries us to places all our own
The words of a look
The language of touch
The way that you want me means so much
And I never wanted anything more than to love you
Seeing my tomorrows in your eyes
I was swept away
I hope I wake up soon
I’m a victim of that crazy moon
The very first time you said my name
I knew it would never sound the same
Something about me is changed forever
Every night I say a prayer in the hope that theres a heaven
And every day Im more confused as the saints turn into sinners
All the heroes and legends I knew as a child have fallen to idols of clay
And I feel this empty place inside so afraid that Ive lost my faith
Show me the way, show me the way
Take me tonight to the river
And wash my illusions away
Show me the way
And as I slowly drift to sleep, for a moment dreams are sacred
I close my eyes and know theres peace in a world so filled with hatred
That I wake up each morning and turn on the news to find weve so far to go
And I keep on hoping for a sign, so afraid that I just wont know
Show me the way, show me the way
Take me tonight to the mountain
And take my confusion away
And if I see a light, should I believe
Tell me how will I know
Show me the way, show me the way
Take me tonight to the river
And wash my illusions away
Show me the way, show me the way
Give me the strength and the courage
To believe that Ill get there someday
Show me the way
Every night I say a prayer
In the hope that theres a heaven..
Hearts of fire creates love desire
Take you high and higher to the world you belong
Hearts of fire creates love desire
High and higher to your place on the throne
We’ve come together on this special day
To sing our message loud and clear
Looking back we’ve touched on sorrowful days
Future pass, they disappear
You will find peace of mind
If you look way down in your heart and soul
Don’t hesitate ‘cause the world seems cold
Stay young at heart ‘cause you’re never (never, never, ..) old at heart
That’s the way of the world
Plant your flower and you grow a pearl
A child is born with a heart of gold
The way of the world makes his heart so cold
There’s no time for a warning
We’ve got to make our move
We can’t wait until morning
We’ll use the light of the moon
We’ve got love on our side
We’re one step ahead
There’s no time for lies
There’s no time for regret
Holding on to love,
we can’t give in ‘cause
Right or wrong,
We’ll hear the angels’ song and lose our fear
And we’ll disappear
Yeah we’ll disappear
I’ll kiss your lips when you’re dreaming
I’ll keep watch when you sleep
And I won’t stop believing
When time makes me weak
Holding on to love,
we can’t give in ‘cause
Right or wrong,
We’ll hear the angels’ song and lose our fear
And we’ll disappear
Yeah we’ll disappear
Falling slow
Fall from view
I’ll follow
I’ll find you
Holding on to love,
we can’t give in ‘cause
Right or wrong,
We’ll hear the angels’ song and lose our fear
And we’ll disappear
Yeah we’ll disappear
Ever After You
Easy come and easy go
Has never been the case
Dreams of you are hard to erase
Call me crazy, call me mad
Call me what you will
But I’m sane enough to know that I love you still
They say that life goes on,
But I’ve been dead since you’ve been gone
I think they were wrong
So who’s the fool?
I am ever after you
Always ever after you
Tell me what I have to do
Is there a way to be happy ever after you?
Ever after you
There is no psychology
And no amount of prayers
That can cure the pain when you’re not there
Cause this is not supposed to be
How a love should look
After you have closed the storybook
They say that life goes on
But I’ve been dead since you’ve been gone
I think they were wrong,
So what’s the use?
I am ever after you
Always ever after you
Tell me what I have to do
Is there a way to be happy ever after you?
Reach out, reach out, reach out, reach out, reach out, reach out,
Reach out, reach out, reach out
I’m not going anywhere
I am ever after you
Always ever after you
Tell me what I have to do
Is there a way to be happy ever after you?
Time passes, the world changes
But I’m still the same ole’ kid
And your jokes still bring me laughter
As if you still were here
And it hurts
When I smile
‘Cause my heart still remembers
When you were around
‘Cause you were there
When no one was
Just when I thought nobody cared
You showed me love
‘Cause you were my friend
You always told me
And I am still here
Because you were there
So precious, small treasures
A time when truth was innocent
True friendship, was all we were after
A place where kids could still be kids
And it hurts
But I’m glad
‘Cause at least I was blessed
To have you as my friend
[HOOK]
You’re my best friend
There are no accidents
God has a plan for everyone
And he brought you in my life
To show me what a good friendship was
